(Summary description)With the rapid development of minimally invasive concept and laparoscopic technology, laparoscopy has been widely developed and continuously improved.
However, intraoperative bleeding and bleeding in the operative field are unavoidable.
A case of laparoscopic gallbladder surgery occurred in a department of a hospital. Due to tissue adhesion, there was a lot of bleeding during the separation process, so ordinary defatting gauze was immediately used to stop the bleeding. Due to the large number of gauze used during the operation, before closing the body cavity, the traveling nurse and hand washing nurse found that the number was not consistent with before, and they searched for it. At the same time, the surgeon was informed to search in the abdominal cavity. After several hours of exploration, one of the sponges was found to be hidden under the intestinal canal and omentum, then taken out immediately and checked again until the number of sponges was consistent and complete, and the body cavity was closed.

After this experience and lesson, the department attached great importance to the safety of patients during operation and the importance of the verification system, and carried out quality improvement.
Through the application of the improved lap sponge in laparoscopic surgery, it's effect performs good,but also avoids the problems of gauze left and thread falling off which are difficult to find.

Our company independently developed a new type of lap sponge, with detectable barium yarn, about 15cm long.
The nature of barium yarn is the same as that of cotton fiber and does not affect the hemostatic function of the lap sponge. Our product is different from the traditional products on the present market, the whole yarn can be detected and coiled with the traditional fastening wire. The coil is too large, and it is easy to trap the closed titanium or biological clip.
And when operations process the in-and-out of the puncture device, it can avoid the yarn being stuck.

Note:
